SESSION 5 — THE MERCIFUL HEART OF CHRIST
THE WAY BACK TO JESUS CHRIST
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful"
Session 5 —
The Merciful Heart of Christ, entering into the love that forgives and restores.
Intention of the Session
To
contemplate and receive the mercy of the Heart of Christ, which heals,
forgives, and restores without conditions, and to learn to live from that same
love.
This session
is offered:
• for the healing of our hearts.
• for those who live trapped in guilt or judgment.
• for reconciliation among human beings.
• for all wounded Creation, crying out for mercy.
Sacred Opening
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Brief
silence.
Invocation
God of love and mercy,
You reveal Your heart in Jesus Christ.
Allow us to enter into that Love
that does not condemn,
that does not reject,
that restores all things.
Amen.
Living Word — Canonical Gospel
Proclaimed
slowly:
"Be merciful,
just as your Father is merciful.
Do not judge, and you will not be judged;
do not condemn, and you will not be condemned;
forgive, and you will be forgiven."
(Luke 6:36–37)
Silence.
The word mercy is allowed to rest in the heart.
Meditation in Silence
Mercy does
not deny truth.
It embraces it.
Christ does not justify sin, but He never rejects the sinner.
Prolonged
silence.
Complementary Text — Apocryphal
(Gospel of
Mary Magdalene)
Read with
reverence:
"The Savior said:
There is no sin,
but it is you who make sin exist
when you act according to the nature of distortion."
(Gospel of Mary, 4:12–13)
Silence.
This text is received as a call to heal the inner root, not as a denial of
moral responsibility.
Breath of the Heart
Gently:
• On the
inhale:
“Jesus, meek and humble of heart…”
• On the
exhale:
“…make my heart like Yours.”
Three times.
Prayer to the Merciful Heart of Christ
Lord Jesus Christ,
Heart full of compassion,
look upon my wounds
and do not turn away from me.
Teach me to forgive
as You forgive,
to love
as You love,
and to see others
with Your eyes.
Amen.
Ritual Gesture
Place both
hands over the chest.
Interiorly:
“Jesus,
I trust in You.”
This gesture
is offered:
• for hardened hearts
• for victims and those who have caused harm
• for broken relationships
• for humanity in need of compassion
Prayer for Humanity and Creation
Merciful Father,
look upon Your children with tenderness.
May violence and judgment cease,
may reconciliation arise,
and may the Earth be treated
not as an object,
but as a gift.
Amen.
Integration
Long
silence.
Do nothing.
Simply allow yourself to be loved.
Closing and Blessing
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
May the peace of Christ
guard our hearts
and extend to all Creation.
Amen.
(cf. Matthew 5:7)
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
