SESSION 10 — THE INNER ASCENSION
THE PATH BACK TO JESUS CHRIST
“He was taken up into heaven”
Session 10 — The Inner Ascension, where Christ raises the human condition without abandoning it.
We continue with the same deep reverence for the Mystery, without over-spiritualizing it or reducing it: Christ ascends without leaving us, and there lies the key.
Intention of the Session
To contemplate the Ascension of Jesus Christ not as separation, but as the fullness of union: Christ raises the human condition to the Father and opens for all a path of life in God.
This session is offered:
• for our hope in eternal life
• for the elevation of human consciousness
• for those who feel abandoned or alone
• for all Creation, called to be glorified
Sacred Opening
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Contemplative silence.
Invocation
Eternal Father,
You glorified Your Son
and did not separate Him from humanity.
Raise our hearts also
toward You,
so that we may live even now
in Your presence.
Amen.
Living Word — Canonical Gospel
Proclaim with serenity and clarity:
“And it came to pass, while He blessed them,
He was parted from them
and was carried up into heaven.
And they, having worshipped Him,
returned to Jerusalem
with great joy.”
Luke 24:51–52
Prolonged silence.
Silent Meditation
Christ does not ascend in order to go far away, but to fill all things.
He does not disappear.
He remains in another way.
Humanity has been carried into God.
Silence.
Complementary Text — Ancient Tradition
Acts of the Apostles / early apocryphal echo
This may be read as a deepening:
“Men of Galilee,
why do you stand looking up into heaven?
This same Jesus
will return in the same way
as you have seen Him go into heaven.”
Acts 1:11
Silence.
This text is received as a call to live between heaven and earth, without escape.
Breath of Elevation
Gently:
• As you inhale:
“Glorified Christ…”
• As you exhale:
“…raise my heart.”
Three times.
Prayer of Trust and Hope
Lord Jesus Christ,
You have carried our humanity
into the heart of the Father.
When my eyes cannot see You,
help me to believe.
When I cannot feel You,
teach me to trust.
May I live with my feet on the earth
and my heart in God.
Amen.
Ritual Gesture
Gently raise the hands a few centimeters, then place them over the heart.
Interiorly:
“My life is hidden with Christ in God.”
cf. Colossians 3:3
This gesture is offered:
• for those who fear death
• for those who live without hope
• for humanity seeking meaning
• for Creation, called to glory
Prayer for Humanity and Creation
Father of glory,
do not allow humanity
to live only for what is immediate.
Lift our gaze
without uprooting us from the world,
and teach us to care for the Earth
as an anticipation of the Kingdom
that is to come.
Amen.
Integration
Spacious silence.
Neither fleeing from the world.
Nor forgetting heaven.
To live in Christ.
Closing and Blessing
The Lord reigns,
clothed in majesty.
May the glorified Christ
sustain our hope
and guide all Creation
toward its fullness.
Amen.
cf. Psalm 93
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
