SESSION 12 — THE CHRISTIC SENDING FORTH
THE PATH BACK TO JESUS CHRIST
“As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
Session 12 — The Christic Sending Forth
Here, the love we have received becomes service to the world.
We have now reached the stage of being sent forth, where what we have received becomes a life offered to others. We continue to walk with sobriety and truth, as we have done until now.
Intention of the Session
To receive the mission entrusted to us by Jesus Christ: to live faith not only as an inner experience, but also as concrete service, humble witness, and love expressed through deeds, for the good of the world and of all Creation.
This session is offered:
for our willingness to serve;
for those who proclaim the Gospel through their lives;
for those who serve without being seen;
for humanity, called to live in active love;
for all Creation entrusted to our hands.
Sacred Opening
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Conscious silence.
Invocation
Good Father,
You do not withhold Love: You send it forth.
Today we receive the mission
that is born of Your Son
and sustained by Your Spirit.
Make us available to Your will.
Amen.
Living Word — Canonical Gospel
Proclaim clearly and simply:
“So Jesus said to them again:
Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent Me,
I also send you.
And when He had said this,
He breathed on them and said to them:
Receive the Holy Spirit.”
John 20:21–22
A prolonged silence.
Meditation in Silence
The sending forth is born of peace.
Not of duty.
Not of fear.
Christ does not send us out alone.
He sends us with His Spirit.
Silence.
Complementary Text — Ancient Tradition
The Didache, an early Christian text
Read with reverence:
“Let your alms sweat in your hands until you know to whom you should give.”
Didache 1:6
Silence.
This text is received as practical wisdom concerning love, embodied in everyday life.
Breath of Willingness
With serenity:
As you inhale:
“Lord, here I am.”As you exhale:
“Send me.”
Repeat three times.
Prayer of Inner Sending Forth
Lord Jesus Christ,
You came not to be served,
but to serve.
Teach me to love
without seeking reward,
to serve
without imposing,
and to be light
even in the smallest things.
May my life speak of You
more than my words.
Amen.
Ritual Gesture
Extend your hands forward as a gesture of offering.
Inwardly say:
“Lord, I place my life at Your service.”
This gesture is offered:
for those who work for peace;
for those who care for, heal, and accompany others;
for those who struggle for justice;
for the Earth, which needs responsible hands.
Prayer for Humanity and Creation
God of love,
bless humanity as it is sent forth into the world.
May we learn to serve
without destroying,
to produce
without exploiting,
and to care for the Earth
as a sacred gift
and not as a possession.
Amen.
Integration
Serene silence.
Make no plans.
Make no grand promises.
Simply remain humbly available.
Closing and Blessing
May the Lord direct our steps
along paths of peace.
May the love we have received
become love freely given
for the good of all
and of all Creation.
Amen.
Cf. Luke 10:1–2
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
